PURPOSE: A method for displaying initial channel selection of television is provided to check the channel of the user's preference to display the channel based on the time and the date. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying initial channel selection of television includes following steps. At the first step(S1), the channel of the user's preference is checked and stored randomly during the operation of the television. At the second step(S2), the channel information on the user's preference is checked after the current time is detected after turning on the television. At the third step(S5), the result of the second step is set as an initial channel. At the forth step(S8), the initial channel is tuned and displayed on the screen of the television. The second step further includes a step of detecting whether the preference channel is effective or not, and setting the channel when power off as an initial channel when the channel is not effective.
