The telephone system overvoltage and high current strength protector includes a three-pole gas discharger (2) and in-series solid-state components (3) controlling the voltage and current respectively. The casing (1) is earthed and located on a bridge (8). The module has the components (3) in the top of the casing (1), so that they do not require th use of a printed circuit.
