In the present invention there is disclosed a detergent agent suitable for forming the shape of cubes and intended for personal washing and containing: (a) 10 to 60 percent by weight synthetic, non-soapy detergent, (b) 20 to 50 percent by weight water-soluble substance being represented by polyethylene glycol or a mixture of polyethylene glycols with molecular weight in the range of 1500 to 10 000 and melting point within the range of 40 to 100 degC, (c) 5 to 50 percent by weight water-insoluble substance being represented by a fatty acid containing 12 to 24 carbon atoms, alkanols containing 9 to 20 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof and melting point of which lies within the range of 40 to 100 degC and (d) 3 to 20 percent by weight water. Water content is preferably lower than 15 percent by weight. The compounds (b) and (c) serve as structural matter of the cubes. The agents can be prepared by joint melting of the aforementioned components at a temperature ranging from 50 to 100 degC without necessity of usual thorough working. The melt can be cast to cubes or cooled down, compacted and pressed to cubes.
