BLOCKING ARTIFACTS REDUCING METHOD USING PROJECTIONS ON TO THE OVERCOMPLETE BASIS AND POSTPROCESSOR THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for removing blocking artifacts using a POCB(Projections onto the Over-Complete Basis) and a post-processor for the same are provided to remove the discontinuity of image information as well as the discontinuity of a boundary between blocks by using a POCB. CONSTITUTION: A post-processor(200) receives decoded images from a decoding device(100). The post-processor(200) is composed of a segmentation unit(210), a POCB processor(220), and a bilinear averaging device(230). The segmentation unit(210) segments the received images into small blocks. A size of block is NxN in order to observe block artifacts between neighboring blocks where N is 16. The POCB processor(220) generates a projection coefficient for the generated block. The bilinear averaging device(230) removes the blocking artifacts.
