PURPOSE: A keyboard membrane checking apparatus and method is provided to check a contact state between membranes by measuring a resistance value between contacts electrically connected in a membrane, and check a disconnection and an insulation of each membrane by measuring a resistance value output from upper and lower membrane. CONSTITUTION: A keyboard membrane checking apparatus comprises an actuator(10), a controller(20), a computer(30) and an interface(40). The actuator(10) includes a main cylinder(11) imposing a pressure on contacts of membranes, a lift plate(12), a solenoid fixing plate(13), and a sub cylinder(18) connecting an interface terminal of the membrane to an external terminal. A rod(11a) is connected to the lift plate(12) having a cylindrical slider(12a). The plate(13) fixing a plurality of solenoids(13a) is installed at a bottom of the lift plate(12). The controller(20) has a plurality of relay boards transmitting control signals selectively driving the solenoids, selecting check process among a membrane disconnection, an insulation state and so on, and driving the cylinders.
