PURPOSE: A convergence based on interlace scanning of a projection television is provided to perform a linear interpolation on a convergence compensation of previous field. CONSTITUTION: A convergence based on interlace scanning of a projection television includes a field memory(10), a compensation amount interpolation processor(20), and a convergence compensator(30). The field memory(10) delays and stores convergence compensation amount of a first field with is a previous field for one field and is a difference parity field when current field is denoted as a first field for a period of one field. The compensation amount interpolation processor(20) receives a first convergence compensation amount as well as a second convergence compensation amount from the field memory and perform a linear interpolation to generate a third convergence compensation amount. The first convergence compensation amount and the second convergence compensation amount are convergence compensation amounts of upper interlacing line and a lower interlace line of the first field, respectively. The convergence compensator(30) sets the third convergence compensation amount as a convergence compensation amount for a corresponding interlace line of the first field and delays the result for a half period of main deflection horizontal synchronous interval.
