PURPOSE: A method for preventing the illegal copying of a digital color copying machine is provided to prevent the illegal copying by shading a letter which informs people of the face that the paper is copied when an image is processed. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for achieving a method for preventing the illegal copying of a digital color copying machine comprises an image inputting section(100), an image processing section(101), an image processing/data formatting section(102), a DRAM image buffer(103), a program EPROM(104), a central processing unit(105), a data transferring section(106), and an image outputting section(107). The image processing section(101) converts the analog signals of the image to digital signals.
