CONTROL DEVICE OF REED SOLOMON ENCODER ACCORDING TO DATA VARIABLE LENGTH

PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling RSE based on data variable length is provided to allow the RSE to perform a variable data encoding by generating a control signal responsive to the variation of an input data length. CONSTITUTION: A message length latch(10) latches a length of message. A counter(20) counts the length of the message. A counter register(30) stores the counted length of the message therein. A first comparator(40) compares the latched message length with the counted message length. An adder(50) adds 20 bytes to the latched message length. A second comparator(60) compares the 20 bytes-added message length with the counted message length. A MUX(70) selects a control signal of the RSE based on the outputs of the first and second comparators(40,50). A DE signal latch(80) outputs the control signal selected by the MUX(70) to the RSE.
