Cosmetic composition for topical use comprises a combination of a bis-resorcinyl triazine ultraviolet filter (I) and an ultraviolet filter (II) selected from compounds (IIA) containing at least two benzoazolyl groups and compounds (IIB) containing at least one benzodiazolyl group, where the combination of (I) and (II) provides a synergistically enhanced solar protection factor.
