PURPOSE: A quilting machine is provided to eliminate cutoff of thread, reduce noise and achieve a high speed operation while arranging press feet for each needle rod and tamping for each needle. CONSTITUTION: A quilting machine comprises needles(2) which are fed with thread via a tamping(14), the needles(2) being fixed in two rows onto an elevating board so as to be vertically moved, and whorls(8) arranged directly under the needle(2), the rear needles and whorls being arranged to be adjusted right and left according to the spacing of the intended quilt cloth, the machine further comprising a plurality of elevating boards(4) to be connected by a rotary axis(28) and an operational lot(32) rotating by a driving axis(22), a plate-shaped guide(6) arranged under boards(4) and which has guide holes(33, 34) at a front and rear portion thereof, the holes(33, 34) being formed in equal spacings, and a needle rod(38) having replaceable needles(2) fixed thereto and which is fixed to the board(4) through the guide holes(33, 34) of the guide(6).
