PURPOSE: A printer and a method for displaying an operation procedure thereof are provided to providing information on a current operation procedure, a content of the operation and page information to users by a display, thereby improving convenience. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying an operation procedure of a printer including a printing engine for printing images corresponding to a received image data on a paper, a display for displaying received information, an input element provided with a plurality of manipulation keys, a controller, includes the steps of receiving a printing data(300), converting the received printing data into an image data proper for driving the printing engine(400), outputting the converted image data to the printing engine, and displaying page information of the image data output from the printing engine on the display(500).
