<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with which even large screens exceeding 70-type screens (about 100-type screens) can be dealt with and the moving amount of a person for pointing is reduced. SOLUTION: As a pointing system, both a system for directly instructing a cursor position (absolute position designating system) and a system for moving the cursor position corresponding to a relative moving amount on the screen of an input device (relative position designating system) are used under mode switching. Concerning a video displayed on a screen 103, for example, the surface of the screen 103 is touched by a pen 110 of a pointing device so that infrared light 122 showing the state and position of the pointing device 110 is emitted from a tip 111 of the pen. The pen 110 is provided with a button 112 capable of selecting the modes of absolute position designation and relative position designation.</p> |
