PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optionally convert the wavelength of a light emitting element without losing the lens function of a resin sealing body, by providing a wavelength conversion material layer on or adjacent to the surface of a primary resin sealing body so as to convert the wavelength of a semiconductor light emitting element into another wavelength. SOLUTION: This semiconductor light emitting device is provided with a cup 10 for housing and placing a semiconductor light emitting element 2, a primary resin sealing body 3 for sealing the element 2 placed in the cup 10, and a secondary resin sealing body 6 for sealing the primary resin sealing body 3 and adding a lens function. On the surface of the primary resin sealing body 3 or adjacent thereto, a wavelength conversion material layer 4 is provided to convert the wavelength of the semiconductor light emitting element into another wavelength. |
