PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum alloy foil capable of obtaining electrolytic capacitor electrode foil of approximately high electrostatic capacitance regardless of the length of energizing time at the time of etching. SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy foil has aluminum purity >=99.4% and contains Fe, Si and Cu with inevitable impurities. In the aluminum alloy foil, crystallized and precipitated product groups zones of 0.3 to 10μm average size are scattered. In the crystallized and precipitated product group zones, crystallized and precipitated products of 0.05 to 5.0μm average particle size are present by 30 to 100 pieces. Moreover, the average spacing between the crystallized and precipitated product group zones is 20 to 150μm. This aluminum alloy foil can be produced by the following method. An aluminum ingot having a prescribed compsn. is prepd. This ingot is subjected to homogenizing treatment under the conditions of 480 to 560 deg.C for 1 to 30 hr. After that, it is subjected to hot rolling and is subjected to finish cold rolling for obtaining rolling ratio of >=95%. Finally, final annealing is executed under the condition of 250 to 450 deg.C.
