PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a remote monitor system by which a range of an occurred event is quickly figured out on the occurrence of falling rocks or the like as a sign of a large scale accident and detailed information to the utmost can be acquired from the range. SOLUTION: A data collection computer 12 detects occurrence of falling rocks from an output of a cable sensor installed in a tunnel A and discriminates a rough position of the occurrence. A communication computer 13 uses a portable telephone set 15 or the like to send control information to a monitor camera 101 or the like to allow the camera 101 to photograph a still picture around the estimated position. This still picture is sent to a host computer 24 in a management office 20.
