PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box for housing an electric appliance with light shielding plates which have neat appearances and are not in danger of being removed. SOLUTION: Light shielding plates 3, to the internal surfaces of which the base-side ends of boss studs 4 are welded, are attached to the external surfaces of a box by passing the bolt shaft sections 4b of the boss studs 4 through attaching holes 5 bored through the external surfaces and screwing nuts 6 on the shaft sections 4b from the insides of the external surfaces. Therefore, the surfaces of the light shielding plates 3 become neat and the plates 3 are not in danger of being removed, because the nuts 6 are on the inside of the box.
