PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification unit, simple in structure and capable of removing phosphoric acid present in water held in a water tank. SOLUTION: This water purification unit D includes a water tank 1, filter tank 10 placed on the water tank 1, water holding tank 2 placed in parallel to the filter tank 10, bleaching tank 3 placed below the water holding tank 2, electrodes 4 placed in the water holding tank 2, DC source which supplies power to these electrodes 4, water lifting pipe 6, and water lifting pump 7. The electrodes 4, rectangular iron plates, elute the iron ion by electrolysis to remove phosphoric acid in water in the water holding tank 2. The eluted iron ion reacts with phosphoric acid to form a water-insoluble phosphorus compound to be precipitated. A swingable transfer pipe 41 is switched to direct water in the water tank 1, supplied by the water lifting pump 7 through the water lifting pipe 6, to the filter tank 10 or water holding tank 2.
