PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handwritten information processing system and its method. SOLUTION: In the handwritten information processing system 100 including a handwritten information input means 101 and a handwritten information recognizing means 102, these means 101, 102 cooperate with each other in order to receive and recognize a user's handwritten input and the system 100 includes also a character segmentation user interface 103 for receiving the definition of text section/picture area, handwritten lines, and a character boundary from a user.
