PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an incorporated battery to the maximum by providing plural camera modes, switching the operation of a camera mode in accordance with an instruction from a user, detecting the available remainder of a power source, setting a level required for executing the operation of the camera mode and deciding whether the detected remainder is over a set level or not. SOLUTION: In changing the camera mode, whether a mode is a printing mode or not is decided first and in the case of the printing mode, a reduced voltage check level is set to be a value suited to the printing mode. In the case of being not the printing mode, whether the mode is a reproducing mode or not is checked. In the case of the reproducing mode, the reduced voltage check level is set to be a value suited to the reproducing mode but in the case of being not the reproducing mode, whether the mode is a photographing mode or not is checked. In the case of the photographing mode, the reduced voltage check level is set to be a value suited to the photographing mode but in the case of being not the photographing mode, the mode is set to a value suited to a normal mode.
