PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic luminescent material affording high emission luminance and new luminescent color, and to obtain an organic electroluminescent device using the above material. SOLUTION: This organic luminescent material is an organic polynuclear metal complex compound having a plurality of central metal atoms and ligands coordinated on the central metal atoms; wherein the ligand to be used is an organic polynuclear metal complex compound containing a <=5C nitrogen-contg. aromatic ring with the nitrogen atom as coordinated atom, an organoboron complex compound with the nitrogen atom in the nitrogen-contg. aromatic ring bound to the boron atom, or an organoboron complex compound with an electron-accepting phenyl group as ligand.
