PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of maintaining an interior environment even with simplified maintenance work resulting from a simple structure. SOLUTION: A lighting system is integrally provided with a photocatalyst type air purifier 20A on a luminaire 1A. The air purifier 20A includes an ultraviolet ray lamp 21, an air filter 22 containing photocatalyst inside, and a fan 25 for forcibly circulating and distributing air in a room. Air in a periphery of the luminaire is passed through the air filter 22 by rotation of the fan 25, and the ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet ray lamp 21 are irradiated on the air filter 22. Contaminants deposited on the air filter 22 is decomposed and removed by photocatalyst effect of the photocatalyst 24 inside the air filter 22.
