PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color EL display device having less manufacturing processes. SOLUTION: An anode 7 and a luminescent layer 15 are formed for every picture element, and a hole transfer layer 14, an electron transfer layer 16 and a cathode 17 are extendedly formed throughout plural picture elements. Therefore, a process to apply etchback to the hole transfer layer 14 and the electron transfer layer 16 is cut. In addition, since a barrier rib which was installed in the past is not formed, its forming process can be also cut. Since the hole transfer layer 14 and the electrode transfer layer 16 isolates the anode 7 and the cathode 17, no short-circuiting is caused even without a barrier rib. Also, since the luminescent layer 15 has almost the same shape with a little bigger size than the anode 7, a leakage current and a field concentration produced at the end part of the anode can be prevented. |
