PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a battery of an electronic camera by relaxing a peak value of power consumption and to prevent a print failure in advance in the electronic camera that has a print mechanism printing out a picture just after its photographing. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with an electronic image pickup section 10 that uses a CCD image pickup element 12 to apply photoelectric conversion to an object image into electric image information, an image recording display section 30 that records the image information by the image pickup section 10 to a recording medium 33 and displays the image information on a liquid crystal display panel 37, a print section 70 that prints out the picture obtained from the image information by the image pickup section 10 on print paper, and an image pickup control section 40 that controls the image pickup section 10. The image pickup control section 40 controls the electronic camera so as to inhibit photographing during the time printing is proceeding in the print section 70. |
