PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element excellent in light emission efficiency, emitting light with high luminance by clamping at least one layer containing at least a compound containing an isoindole ring between a pair of electrodes. SOLUTION: This organic electric field light emitting element contains at least one layer of a compound expressed by formula I. Actually, a compound expressed by formula II is used. In formula I, Ar1 and Ar2 are aryl group; R1-R6 are H, halogen atom, cyano group, alkyl group, alkoxy group, aralkyl group, or aryl group; X1 is H, alkyl group, aralkyl group, or aryl group; and X2 is H, cyano group, alkyl group, aralkyl group, or aryl group. Preferably, the compound expressed by formula I is used for an electron hole injection transport component and a light emission component. Preferably, in the light emission layer, the compound expressed by formula I and a light emitting organometal compound having a light emission function or a triaryl amine derivative are used jointly, and the proportion of the compound expressed by formula I is preferably about 0.001 to 99.999 wt.%.
