PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a network interface card(NIC) capable of controlling an NIC from the side of a printer system and a printer system utilizing this control method. SOLUTION: A data transmission/reception part 10 performs the transmission/ reception of information with an NIC 1. An NIC data analysis processing part 20 analyzes the information received by the data transmission/reception part 10 and writes it in a status area 100. A user interface 30 displays the information of the NIC written in the status area 100 on a control panel 2. Besides, the NIC data analysis processing part 20 transforms the transmission information, which is written in the status area 100 by the control panel 2, into a form suitable for the NIC 1 and this information is transmitted through the data transmission/reception part 10 to the NIC 1.
