PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inorganic coating treatment agent for a metal plate containing no toxic substance and capable of imparting anti-corrosive capability and to provide both a method for coating the agent and the metal plate having the inorganic film. SOLUTION: This inorganic coating treatment agent is characterized by compounding 100 pts.wt. of the solid matter of an aqueous solution of an alkali silicate-based glass with 5-80 pts.wt. of a particulate filler capable of maintaining the particulate shape having 0.05-5.0μm average particle diameter at a drying temperature after coating. A metal plate such as a plated steel plate to be treated is coated with the inorganic coating treatment agent and dried so as to provide 0.1-5.0μm dried thickness. Thereby, a film in which the particulate filler is in an intact particulate state is formed.
