PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in low friction non-oxide ceramic that has a stable texture and dense solid lubricity by compounding a metal oxide having solid lubricity, a metal oxide, a metal nitride or a metal silicide having oil adsorption properties, and a non-oxide ceramic in a composite form, and to provide its production process. SOLUTION: In this low friction non-oxide ceramic, the dispersion phase 13 of compounds 3, 4 of metal elements melting at >=1,800$0C and sensitive to oxidation is dispersed in the matrix phase 12 of a non-oxide ceramic. The metal element is oxidizable on its surface but not inside 3, or a metal oxide, a metal nitride or a metal silicide 4 is used. In a preferred embodiment, the dispersion phase is dispersed in the from of spherical particles. |
