PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous operation of a sterilization apparatus by measuring the time necessary for a predetermined pressure change, and operating it by time control based on a measured time, when a pressure sensor is in failure in operation control based on signals from a pressure sensor for detecting the pressure in a sterilizer tank. SOLUTION: After an article to be sterilized is housed in a sterilizer tank 1, the door 3 is closed, and the sterilizer tank 1 is heated. Then, an exhaust valve 11, a vacuum pump 12, and a steam feed valve 6 are controlled, and the operation to discharge air in the sterilizer tank 1 and the operation to feed steam into the sterilizer tank 1 are repeated several times alternately. At that time, opening and closing of the exhaust valve 11 and the steam feed valve 6 as well as on/off of the vacuum pump 12 are controlled based on output of a pressure sensor 15, and at the same time the time required for a predetermined pressure change of the sterilizer is measured and memorized. When failure of the pressure sensor 15 is judged, the operation control of the sterilizer is changed to time control, and opening and closing of the steam feed valve 6, the exhaust valve 11, and the like and on/off of the vacuum pump 12 are controlled by time. |
