摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for medicines, agrochemicals, or the like. SOLUTION: This compound is 2-N-(N-methylpyrrolidin-2-ylidene)-6- chloropurine represented by the formula. The compound represented by the formula is produced by reacting guanine with a chlorinating agent which is preferably phosphorus oxychloride and N-methylpyrrolidone, preferably at 80-90 deg.C under refluxing. The above phosphorus oxychloride is used in a molar amount of preferably 1-10 times based on the above guanine. The above N- methylpyrrolidone is used in a molar amount of preferably 1-5 times based on the above guanine. The reaction is usually preferably carried out in an inert solvent such as acetonitrile and the volume of the solvent used at this time is usually 1-20 times based on the guanine.
