PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and purifying a conjugated diene monomer most suitable for each of the methods for polymerizing the conjugated diene monomer for polymerization. SOLUTION: This method for separating and purifying a conjugated diene monomer comprises controlling the amount of an amine compound for making a contact with a C4 or C5 fraction based on information regarding to a catalyst for polymerizing the conjugated diene monomer in performing an extracting or an extractive distillation of the C4 or C5 fraction containing a very small amount of carbon disulfide in the presence of an extraction solvent. More concretely, in the case of polymerizing the conjugated diene monomer by using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst, the amine compound is used by 0-1 mole based on 1 mole of carbon disulfide, and in the case of polymerizing the conjugated diene monomer by using an organic alkali metal catalyst, the amine compound is used by 0.5-30 mole based on 1 mole of carbon disulfide for obtaining the conjugated diene monomer most suitable for each of the various polymerization catalysts.
