PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable ice operation by a method wherein ice is produced constantly high efficient and purified water and an antifreeze solution are supplied. SOLUTION: Water and an antifreeze solution being a non-water solution cooling medium having specific gravity higher than that of water is cooled to temperature of 0 deg.C or less and the cooling medium is injected in water and by effecting heat-exchange, an ice making tank 7 to produce sherbet-form ice or ice lumps is provided. In a so formed ice heat storage system, a suction nozzle 15 is arranged in each liquid interface or the vicinity of the interface, occurring due to a difference in a specific gravity, in an ice making tank 7. A liquid quality purifying device is provided to suck water and the interface of the antifreeze solution or water in the vicinity of the interface and the antifreeze solution and purify impurities and foreign matters accumulated or floating on the interface or in the vicinity of the interface.
