PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the collection and separation efficiency of fine by particles by preventing re-scattering in a separator and collecting even sub-micron particles with a particle size of an about 1μm unit. SOLUTION: A solid-liquid separating apparatus receiving the treated soln. 14 subjecting to reaction treatment in a hydrothermal reaction apparatus to separate the same into fine particles 16 and a supernatant soln. 17 consists of a vortex chamber 2 comprising a taper pipe 2a receiving the treated soln. 14 in a tangential direction at the upper end thereof to form a revolving stream 15 and allowing the revolving stream 15 to flow down while increasing the speed thereof gradually, the particle collecting chamber 3 connected to the lower end of the vortex chamber 2 and having screw-like grooves arranged to the inner surface thereof, the screen 6 having a large number of through-holes 6a fitted in the particle collecting chamber 3, the particle sedimentation chamber 5 having the upper taper pipe 5a connected to the lower end of the particle collecting chamber 3 at the upper end thereof and a lower taper pipe 5b, a revolving stream holding chamber 7 having the taper pipe 7a fitted in the upper part of the particle sedimentation chamber 3 and connected to the lower end of the screen 6 and a bottom plate 7b and a clarified soln. discharging pipe 8 for discharging the clarified soln. 17 in the revolving stream holding chamber 7 to the outside and a fine particle discharge pipe 12 is connected to the lower end of the particle sedimentation chamber 5.
