PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening cutter which is capable of making a large hole in the end face of a drum can or the like in a short time and free from falling of a cut piece. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an opening cutter 61 which has a blade part 63 in the shape of a pyramid and opens the end face of a drum can a by pressing the blade part 63 from its apex into the end face of the drum can a with the center line of the blade part 63 made to almost coincide with the center line of the drum can a. By pressing the blade part 63 into the end face of the drum can a, a small hole is first made almost in the center of the end face, and, then, along the ridgelines of the pyramid the end face of the drum can is cut having the hole as its center.
