PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a polishing surface formable in small size and reduce polishing work, by installing a sphere to a part forming the polishing surface of a workpiece containing abrasive material, applying pressure to transcribe a surface shape of the sphere, and forming the polishing surface. SOLUTION: In this manufacture method of a polishing plate, a polishing plate having a curved recessed surface consisting of a spherical surface as a polishing surface 4 is manufactured. An abrasive material, for instance, like a diamond abrasive grain is included in a workpiece 1 for manufacturing the polishing plate. First a prepared hole is formed in a location formed with the polishing surface 4 in a tip end face of the workpiece 1. The workpiece 1 is put into an insertion space 73 of an outer form 7, a spherical unit 6 is mounted in the prepared hole thereof. Next, one more workpiece 1 is inserted in the insertion space 73, to apply a pressure. In this way, the spherical unit 6 gets in the prepared hole of both the workpieces 1, a surface shape of the sphere 6 is transcribed, and the polishing surface 4 of curved recessed surface consisting of spherical surface is formed. The polishing surface 4 is simultaneously formed relating to both the workpieces 1 in a single pressure process.
