摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the positional variation of cooling rolls at the end surface positioning time and at the initial stage of casting start and to improve the press- contacting state with a side weir by positioning a bearing fixedly supporting one side of the cooling roll before the casting start in the axial direction and executing the positioning process of the end surfaces between both cooling rolls while rotating the cooling rolls in the same directions as the directions in the execution of the casting. SOLUTION: A mold is constituted with the cooling rolls 1, 1 whose rotating shafts 2, 2 are horizontally disposed so as to be mutually parallel with a prescribed interval, and the side weirs 3, 3 pushed to both ends surfaces 5, 5 of the cooling rolls 1, 1. One side of the rotating shafts 2, 2 projecting from both end surfaces 5, 5 of the cooling rolls 1, 1 is restrained to the displacement in the axial direction and fixedly supported, and the other side is allowable to the displacement in the axial direction as the movable supporting shaft. In this mold, a molten metal pool part 6 is formed and the solidified shells 7, 7 are formed on the surface of both cooling rolls 1, 1 rotated in the arrow marks and integrated to obtain a strip state cast slab 8. The positioning of both end surfaces 5, 5 is executed so that the cooling water temp. of the cooling rolls 1, 1 is equalized as the cooling water temp. just before the casting shart.
