PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize effectively magnet torque and reluctance torque in an inner- rotor permanent magnet motor. SOLUTION: A permanent magnet burying hole in a rotor core 10 and a permanent magnet 11 have a bathtub-shaped cross section. The permanent magnet 11 is so positioned that the bottom part thereof faces a shaft passing hole 4. In this case, a core-bridging part of the permanent magnet burying hole on an outer circumferential part of the rotor core 10 has a width (x) with the relation 0.7t<=x<=2t, where t is the thickness of a core sheet. An angular part nearer to a q-axis on both edge faces of the permanent magnet 11 is chamfered in parallel with the d-axis, and flux-barrier holes 14 for preventing the leakage of magnetic flux and short circuit are formed. |
