PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the protective properties of an image formed of an ink composition, above all, an image formed by an ink jet recording process. SOLUTION: A protecting layer is formed on a recording medium on which an image is formed by making a protecting solution for protecting the formed image adhere to the imaged recording medium by an ink jet recording process. The protecting layer protects the image against various physical or chemical changes, according to the contained components of the protecting solution. For example, the protecting solution containing an ultraviolet absorbing agent imparts light resistance and the protecting solution containing a resin having a skin forming power imparts the resistance to abrasion, water, ozone and humidity and at the same time, makes the image lustrous. |
