PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose organic matter in a short time and to reduce a running cost necessary for keeping warm by adding a microorganism having cracking ability so as to perform composting after heat-treating recalcitrant organic matter. SOLUTION: The decomposition treatment of recalcitrant organic matter such as mown grasses of lawn is carried out as follows: (1) steaming the grasses with steam for about 20-60 min in the case of a non-pressure condition or for about 15 min under high pressurization of 1.0 kg/cm2 so as to cause the eradication of most of microorganism not having heat resistance, to enable microorganisms added after steaming to preferentially propagate to cause heat denaturation of tissues of grasses and to make it easy to be decomposed by the microorganism; (2) adding the microorganism, water, an aqueous solution, a pH controlling agent, or the like after steaming, and if needed, adding organic matter subjected to composting on that occasion; (3) performing a primary fermentation of grasses added with the microorganisms in an aerobic condition, followed by performing a secondary fermentation in a reduced state of compost layer thickness down to <=1/2 times the thickness in the primary fermentation in a comparatively anaerobic condition.
|
