PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angle adjustment device for the backrest of a car seat capable of adjusting the angle of the backrest precisely without troubles, preventing the distortion caused by an impact applied from outside while driving the car, and minimizing the risk of an accident. SOLUTION: A rotation member 210 attached to a support bracket 110 fixed to a seat part and a rotation member 210a attached to a support bracket 110a fixed to a backrest part are connected rotatably. A gear 340 under an elevating member 310 stored inside the rotation member 210 and a gear 340a under a dent 240 formed in a rotation member 210a for storing the elevating member 310 are engaged with each other with upward/downward movement of the elevating member 310, so that the rotation members 210 and 210a are rotated or stopped. A rectangular hole 330 with slanting planes 331 and 332 respectively on the upper surface and the lower surface is formed at the center of the elevating member 310, and the elevating member 310 is moved upward/downward with the rotation of an operating cam 410 stored in the rectangular hole 330 and the cam surface acting on the slanting planes 331 and 332.
