PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigator which can reduce the burden on the driver of a vehicle when the driver drives the vehicle and, at the same time, can control electric appliances used in a home from a remote place at the optimum timing. SOLUTION: A navigator 10 is provided with a voice recognizing device 30. When the operator of the device 10 utters a command for operating an electric appliance used in a home, the voice recognizing device 30 recognizes the command and outputs the recognized voice pattern to a microcomputer 20. The microcomputer 20 outputs the operational command corresponding to the voice pattern recognized by the device 30 to a portable telephone set 42. The telephone set 42 converts the operational command into a tone dial signal and transmits the signal to a control terminal set up in the home. As a result, the electric appliance connected to the control terminal can be controlled from a remote place. |
