PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an equipment from being emergently stopped even when a heating operation in a high temperature regenerator is stopped upon almost no heating load and the temperature of hot water circulated and supplied to the heating load is raised to abnormally high temperature due to the Joule heat of a pump. SOLUTION: An absorption water chiller boiler comprises a high temperature regenerator 1, a low temperature regenerator 2, a condenser 3, an evaporator 4, and absorber 5 or the like which are connected together by a piping to form the circulating passage of absorption liquid and a refrigerant. Upon heating operation of the absorption water chiller boiler, when outlet side temperature T1 of hot water detected by a temperature sensor 30 exceeds setting temperature, a refrigerant pump 19 is operated to scatter low temperature condensed refrigerant stored in the refrigerant reservoir of the evaporator 4 on a heat transfer pipe 21A to cool hot water flowing therein.
