PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powder-containing cosmetic, such as a makeup cosmetic, which improves the adhesion of the powder and a makeup-lasting property without deteriorating the persistency of a finished state, by adding a specific sucrose fatty acid ester. SOLUTION: This powder-containing cosmetic contains a branched 10-20C fatty acid ester of sucrose. The branched 10-20C fatty acid is preferably isostearic acid, 2-ethylhexanoic acid or the like. The branched 10-20C fatty acid ester of sucrose is obtained by reacting the branched fatty acid with thionyl chloride in a solvent such as chloroform, reacting the obtained acid chloride with sucrose in a solvent such as pyridine or triethylamine, and then purifying the reaction product by a vacuum distillation method or a column chromatography method using silica gel or the like as a carrier. The preferable content of the sucrose branched 10-20C fatty acid ester in the powder-containing cosmetic is preferably 0.05-30 wt.%, more preferably 0.1-10 wt.%.
