PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic billet which is not allowed to roll in a heating furnace at the time of heating and not allowed to cause development of a corner crack at the time of rolling products. SOLUTION: Relating to the metallic billet 1 obtained by rolling, this billet has two parallel planes 1A, 1B and two parallel planes 1C, 1D in the orthogonal direction to the planes 1A, 1B and curved surfaces 1E, 1F, 1G, 1H respectively between adjacent planes 1A, 1C, planes 1C, 1B, planes 1B, 1D and planes 1D, 1A. The radii R of curvature of the curved surfaces are defined as 0.50-0.60 times the interval L between two parallel planes.
