PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston inserting device capable of preventing a piston from tumbling. SOLUTION: A piston inserting device is equipped with a working table 1 for fixing a work 10 so that the axis of its cylinder sleeve is directed in vertical direction, an elevation part 3 installed under the table movably in the vertical direction, a driving means 5 for elevating and sinking the part 3, and a piston receptacle 4 protruding upward from the part 3, inserted from below into the cylinder sleeve movably in the vertical direction upon penetrating the working table 1, and receiving by the top the top part of the piston 21. A piston sub-assembly 20 is set over a work 10, and the piston 21 is set confronting the cylinder sleeve, and the two ends of a crank shaft 23 are supported by a supporting part 2, and if the piston sub-assembly is intruded and the elevation part 3 is sunk, the piston receptacle 4 guides the piston 21 in such a way as not tumbling and moves down, and it is possible to insert the piston 21 into the cylinder sleeve easily.
