摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open sealing of a battery container without leaving internal energy in the cell container in the case of the incidence of an abnormality in the batteris container of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: A safety mechanism composed of a vent 1 formed on a battery container, a valve 2 comprising thermal deformation material to be deformed by heat generation caused by a current, installed on the peripheral part of an opening of the vent 1 by being connected to an electrode, a safety valve body 3 for sealing the air hole 1 and for opening the vent 1 by moving sequentially with the deformation of the valve 2, and a switch 4 interposed between the electrode and the valve 2, for cutting the conduction between the electrode and the valve 2 at regular times and for allowing the conduction between the electrode and the valve 2, when the pressure or the temperature in the battery container is raised abnormally, is installed in this secondary battery. On the occurrence of an abnormality, the switch 4 is changed to the ON state to send a current to the valve 2, and the valve 2 generates heat and is deformed. As a result, the safety valve body 3 is opened to thereby reduce the internal energy and the pressure in the container.
