The invention concerns a method and device for composting organic waste and/or sewage sludge in heaps in a closed system, preferably a forced air circulation reactor, which circulates the air necessary for the rotting process through the waste, the air flow rate being controlled in dependence on measured system parameters. In order to ensure uniform fermentation at minimum cost, the invention proposes that air is fed at least at intervals to the closed system at a pressure above the external pressure and subsequently withdrawn again at a suction pressure below the external pressure. |
