PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the paper refilling work to a printer. SOLUTION: The lock of the lock mechanism L engaging a lower unit 14 having a platen 12 with an upper unit 16 having a thermal head 15 is released by revolving a printer cover 7 in an open direction and the upper unit 16 is opened in connection with the opening operation of the printer cover 7. By this constitution, paper refilling work becomes easy because the printer cover 7 and the upper unit 16 are opened at the same time by one work. When the printer cover 7 is revolved in a closing direction to be brought to a closed state, the upper unit 16 is set to a half-open position but the lock mechanism L is brought to a lock state by pushing down the pressure member 23 partially projected from the printer cover 7 to close the printing cover. By this constitution, the lower and upper units 14, 16 are certainly locked to protect the thermal head 15. |
