Each product is moulded in two phases using a hollow casting shell, open at one face, for the flange or lipshield, having a central hole through which passes the stem of the bulbous core used for lip forming the nipple proper. After single or double dipping with the shell opening downward, the mould assembly passes on its conveyor chain into an inverted position where the flange material is poured into it. The stem is mushroom bended and spring loaded to a retracted position. Fixed ramps depress the mushroom head as the tool passes over the dip bath to control the depth of immersion during dipping. |
