<p>Unit for amplifying light signals in optical fiber transmission lines, comprising a fiber optical amplifier (2) arranged to be connected in use to at least an input optical fiber line (3) through which light signals are transmitted to the amplifier and to at least an output optical fiber line (5) into which the light signals amplified by said fiber optical amplifier are introduced, characterised by the fact of comprising first means for unidirectional selection (7) interposed between said amplifier (2) and the output optical fiber line (5) to prevent the transmission of optical signals of noise from said output line to the amplifier, and second means for unidirectional selection (8) interposed between the amplifier (2) and the input line (3) to prevent the transmission of noise signals from the amplifier to said input line, said first and second selection means (7, 8) comprising at least a first optical insulator and at least a second optical insulator, respectively, said optical insulators (7, 8) having a reflectivity lower of at least 10 dB than the Rayleigh scattering of the optical fibres forming said input and output lines (3, 5).</p> |
