The sensor, which is particularly useful for indicating and/or registering abnormal temperature variations, comprises a body (2) in thermal contact with the object being monitored, and a sensor device (13) movable between a first position in contact with this body and a second position where it is not in contact. The sensor device provides a signal corresponding to the actual temperature of the object and is coupled to a control device (11) that transfers the signal to an indicator (9, 10). A power source (8) is provided for the control device, sensor device and indicator. A switch (12) is pre-tensioned in a first position where it prevents the supply of current, and it can be moved into a second position where the voltage effect is equalised, so that current can be supplied. The sensor device is a thermistor. The control device is a processor programmed to emit a second signal following a time delay, and emit a third signal following an increase in temperature above a threshold level. The indicator comprises light diodes, preferably different colours, e.g. red and green. |
